Hi book lovers! I hope you all had a productive weekend. I can’t believe how fast this month is going by. Anyway, it’s Monday and I want to know what you’re reading! This meme began on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, who then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. It’s a chance to check out what others are reading and maybe (who are we kidding? probably) add to your tbr. All you have to do to participate is let us know what you finished reading recently, what you’re reading now, and what you plan to read next.

I listened to Geekerella, which is now included with Audible Plus. I am absolutely loving the change in membership benefits. In case you don’t know Audible is now offering Audible Plus (think Kindle Unlimited for audiobooks). Now, I have an entire library available to listen to that doesn’t require credits or purchase.

Back to the book: I really enjoyed this one. It was cute and obviously a bit predictable since it’s a modern-day retelling of Cinderella, but I still found it to be engaging. The cast of characters is stellar and the pacing is quick, making this a fast, fun read that I highly recommend.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I read Subversive in a day. Saturday to be exact. I highly recommend this for fans of fantasy or romance. It is set to release Sept. 27 and, best of all, the rest of the books in the trilogy will be releasing later this year. You can read my full review here.

Currently Reading:

The Princess and the Fangirl is the next in the Once Upon a Con series. It is also included free with Audible Plus so I decided to check it out for my next listen. It involves some of the same characters from Geekerella. It does seem like it could be read as a standalone, but there are mild spoilers for book 1 since. This is one of those stories where the movie star and the fangirl happen to look alike, so they switch places for a couple days. What could go wrong?

I’m also still reading Ever the Brave (almost done) and To Sleep In a Sea of Stars (only about 10% done).

Reading Next:

I’ll be starting Ladies of the House a Modern Retelling of Sense and Sensibility (which I have not read) by Lauren Edmondson. I’m reading this one for OUABC, so I’ll have it finished by the end of the month. This one is set to be released in February 2021.

No surprise is a good surprise. At least according to thirty-four-year-old Daisy Richardson. So when it’s revealed in dramatic fashion that her esteemed father had been involved in a public scandal before his untimely death, Daisy’s life becomes complicated—and fast.

For one, the Richardsons must now sell the family home in Georgetown they can no longer afford, and Daisy’s mother is holding on with an iron grip. Her younger sister, Wallis, is ready to move on to bigger and better things but falls fast and hard for the most inconvenient person possible. And then there’s Atlas, Daisy’s best friend. She’s always wished they could be more, but now he’s writing an exposé on the one subject she’s been desperate to avoid: her father.

Daisy’s plan is to maintain a low profile as she works to keep her family intact amid social exile, public shaming, and quickly dwindling savings. But the spotlight always seems to find the Richardsons, and when another twist in the scandal comes to light, Daisy must confront the consequences of her continued silence and summon the courage to stand up and accept the power of her own voice.

Have you read any of theses? What are you reading on this fine day? Feel free to drop your IMWAYR links in the comments!
