Fans of Perfect Chemistry and To All The Boys I’ve Loved before will adore Lies That Bind, the first YA romance in the Heart Brothers series by Ami Allen. When Ant and Kyrah, two kids from seemingly opposite walks of life, decide to start fake dating, it isn’t long before they realize that they might have more in common then their mutual desire for freedom.

Ant is not immediately likable, but he quickly grew on me as the story progressed. Kyrah I adored from her first introduction. I love her fire and passion. The two of them together gave me all the feels. There were definitely moments when I wanted to reach through the pages and smack them both, but, ultimately, I was rooting for them.

I stayed up way too late reading this. I just could not put it down. The writing is simple, but beautiful and the story grabbed me right from the start. I highly recommend Lies That Bind for any fans of YA romance and even those who don’t often read the genre.
