Getting Lucky in Love by Dylann Crush is the third of 12 expected stories in The Love Vixen series, a collection of romance novellas by different authors revolving around a trending love guru, the Love Vixen. One of the 12 books is being released each month in 2021.

This read was exactly what I needed after a week of epic fantasy and morose YA contemporary. Crush’s writing style is engaging from the first page. I’m such a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope that I sometimes forget how much I enjoy friends-to-lovers. Well this story brought me back to it with a vengeance. From the start, I was completely captivated with Vi and Grif. Their friendship is seriously #goals and the way that it morphed into something more was so satisfying. I’m always a fan of dual POV in romance and this book does not disappoint.

Though this is just shy of 200 pages, the pace of the story is spot on. It doesn’t feel rushed even though both main characters undergo formidable changes. I was also pleasantly surprised at the depth of secondary characters that Crush includes. I’m interested enough to wish I had stories for them as well. This feels like a full length novel in every way that counts and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who wants a light, quick read with a bit of steam! Getting Lucky in Love is available now on Amazon and through Kindle Unlimited.
